About Us

Morrison Music Repairs is owned and run by Amanda Morrison, a Brass & Woodwind Repair Technician. Amanda has been servicing, repairing and restoring instruments since 2012 and has always had an interest in the mechanics of musical instruments. She pursued instrument repairs as a career after working in the music industry for a over a decade. Amanda is also a member of NAPBIRT (National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians).

Prior to 2012 and currently, Amanda works as a brass and woodwind teacher and conductor. This enables her to personally test play every instrument that comes into the workshop as well as enhances her ability to connect with customers and understand their needs as a musician. She can provide expert and friendly advice about maintaining and servicing your instrument as well as general advice about purchasing a new instrument.

About Amanda

Amanda completed a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education in 2006 at Monash University and an Honours in Conducting at The University of Adelaide in 2019. From 2012-2014 Amanda studied instrument repairs with Andrea Jelleff (Furness Repair Studio) and with these new specialised skills Amanda was able to open ‘Morrison Music Repairs’ in 2014. In 2019 while studying in Adelaide, Amanda conducted various groups including the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and assisted Mark Wigglesworth and Nicholas Carter on various projects.

Amanda is very passionate about music education and is the current ABODA Victoria President (Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association), conductor of the Monash Symphonic Winds Ensemble, Music Coordinator at Healesville High School and of course the repair technician of Morrison Music Repairs.
