Frequently Asked Questions

What instruments do you repair?

We repair all Brass & Woodwind instruments. We complete; annual servicing, minor repairs, major repairs, dent repairs, cork replacement, remove stuck slides, remove stuck mouthpieces, re-string french horns… and so much more!

How often and why do I need to have my instrument serviced?

I liken your instrument to a car, if you want it to play optimally it must be regularly maintained. This will ensure the perishable parts are replaced gradually over time, rather than leaving the instrument for 5-10 years where it may require a very costly service with a number of parts replaced. Generally, once a year will suffice for a service, however, if it is played heavily it may require a service more often. This can be discussed personally in relation to the way you use your instrument.

How much will it cost to service my instrument?

Every instrument is unique so a quote will be provided based on your individual instrument. A rough quote can be provided over the phone/email, however, the only way to provide an accurate quote is to assess the instrument in person. Recommendations can be made for different levels of servicing and for future work that may need to be completed. There are some basic costs via the links on the Service/Repair page.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Currently we accept direct deposit or cash. We don’t have card facilities at this point in time.

Do you sell second hand instruments?

Yes, we do. This stock is constantly changing so direct enquiries are best to find out what is available. We can also help source an instrument if there is something specific you are looking for. Often it will take a week to prepare the instrument for sale as it has a service just before you purchase it to ensure it is in top condition. Check out the Sales page for more information
